Diversity, equity and inclusion strategies in the workplace often focus on issues of race and sexual identity. However, another form of diversity is also prevalent — generational diversity. For the first time in history, there are up to five generations in the workforce. OIG attorney investigators Danielle Drossel an Madeline Buitelaar explore this topic in their guest commentary article, “How to Manage a Multigenerational Workforce,” which appeared in the July 21, 2022 issue of the North Bay Business Journal. In the article, they share a few examples of what age-based stereotypes and microaggression comments might look like and offer some practical strategies for responding to and preventing ageism in the workplace.
