Summary
Oppenheimer Investigations Group LLP is seeking a mid-level attorney with approximately five (5) or more years of experience who is a dynamic, organized self-starter to investigate highly sensitive workplace or school claims as an external investigator.
Primary Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, and witnesses
- Collect and organize documents or other information relevant to the investigation
- Write well-organized and clear summaries of interviews
- Analyze and write well-reasoned findings
- Proactively communicate with supervisor and clients regarding various case logistics
- Maintain positive client relationships
- Collaborate with writers, copy editors, and supervisors regarding written reports
- Prepare reports to submit for client review
- Independently manage case work
- Attend office meetings, both remote and in-person
Basic Qualifications
- Active admission to the California State Bar
- Five (5) or more years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Reside in California
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at every level of an organization
- Must have an inquisitive, analytical nature while being able to neutrally and fairly evaluate evidence
- Technically proficient in document editing, document management, and publishing software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite)
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) or more years of experience in labor and employment law
- Experience in conducting or overseeing workplace or school investigations
- Knowledge of current events, bias, and discrimination issues
Physical Requirements
Sitting for extended periods is common. Some travel is required to locations across the state. No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force (e.g., carrying a laptop, tablet) may be required.

Work Environment
The work is usually performed remotely at home. Some in-person interviews may be required at various sites throughout California, depending upon the needs of the investigation. Occasionally, the incumbent will attend meetings in person in Oakland, California and at off-site retreats. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work on computers and other communication devices are involved.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this role is approximately $124,000 to $174,000, which is OIG’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on current compensation at the time of this announcement. Actual compensation is dependent on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Benefits include medical, dental, bonuses, and 401K plan.

Administrative Assistant
Summary
Oppenheimer Investigations Group is looking to fill an Administrative Assistant position, whose responsibilities include preparing and submitting invoices and carrying out general administrative tasks. Qualified applicants should present a friendly and professional demeanor. Work is mainly remote with some in-person obligations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly invoices to clients
- Schedule calls and meetings for partners
- Review, proofread and edit investigation reports, marketing materials and internal documents; corrects spelling, grammar, syntax, layout and word usage to ensure consistent style
- Finalize investigation reports
- Assist with closing case files and updating case stats spreadsheet
- Follow up with clients after investigation
- Work in office Document Management System to assist attorneys with various tasks
- Assists in preparation of PowerPoint presentations
- Participate in weekly office staff meetings
- Special projects as required
- Other work as assigned
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Stellar understanding of spelling and grammar
- Strong ability to organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Google Suite

- Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented
- Able to function in a fast-paced virtual environment
Physical Requirements
The incumbent must be able to:
- Perform sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
- Type at least 50 words per minute
- Work at a computer for prolonged periods of time
