OIG Welcomes Attorney Tracey Merwise

May 04, 2022

OIG is pleased to welcome Tracey Merwise to the firm as a Senior Attorney. Tracey, an experienced labor and employment attorney, will focus on conducting neutral workplace investigations, mediation and conflict resolution, as well as developing and delivering training in harassment prevention and D&I.

“The depth of Tracey’s expertise and range of perspectives perfectly complement our firm’s services and culture,” said OIG Managing Partner Amy Oppenheimer. “She has a clear understanding of the stakes involved for employers and their people, and her thoughtful approaches help safeguard organizational health and individual wellbeing in fast-paced work environments. Tracey’s addition boosts our ability to respond to growing needs from clients wanting to maintain safe, inclusive spaces where all people can thrive. OIG and our clients are thrilled to have her on the team.”

Tracey joins the firm with nearly three decades of experience advising organizations on a broad spectrum of employment law-related compliance matters, including high-stakes investigations involving claims of workplace harassment. She frequently speaks and trains others on issues pertaining to prevention of harassment, discrimination and retaliation; managing workplace conflict; and catalyzing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Prior to OIG, Tracey served as partner at Severson & Werson PC, where she co-chaired its Employment Practice Group, and at Jackson Lewis PC, as well as in-house counsel at Uber, AT&T and in the children’s summer camp field.

Tracey received her mediator certification from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law and served as a volunteer mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She also graduated from the Association of Workplace Investigators’ (AWI’s) Training Institute for Workplace Investigators in 2016. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A., cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
